About A'Keti and her Organization
A'Keti Avila has come a long way since growing up on a
mile-long dirt road in
East Central Georgia's
"poor belt". Today, this award-winning Speaker,
Trainer, Social Advocate and Wellness Coach is more
likely to be found in places such as
New York's Apollo Theater,
where she was recently named a Stroke
Ambassador
for the American Heart Association or Dallas, Texas
accepting the prestigious American Heart Association
Louis B. Russell, Jr. Memorial Award in recognition of
her outstanding and effective service to minority and
under-served communities.
A passionate, exuberant and powerfully impactful
speaker, A’Keti’s keynotes often leave audiences
feeling empowered and enlighten with the necessary
skills to make positive changes in their own lives and
in the lives of the people and communities they serve.
Although A’Keti is a Stanford
University-Certified Master Trainer in Chronic Disease
Self-Management and an authority on both individual and
community health, her passion for health and wellness
education actually comes from a very personal place.
Fueled by her own life-threatening experiences with
diabetes, she uses her first hand experiences to provide
practical knowledge for others to live healthy,
empowered, purposeful lives.
A’Keti is also a fierce
advocate for social change. She has personally helped
raise millions of dollars for
non-profit organizations, spearheaded innumerable
community projects and is an expert project manager.
Not only has she provided direct oversight of multiple
Health Networks and established
wellness centers sites throughout the state of Georgia,
but A’Keti has collaborated with several National
and Regional organizations - American Heart Association,
American Diabetes Association,
American Cancer Society,
Diabetes Screening Project, National Institutes of
Health, the State of Georgia
Department of Community Health as well as
Universities to assist with training and the promotion
of a variety of health issues.
A'Keti is also the author
of the upcoming book "Diabetes from
A'Keti
to Z", and is currently developing a health and
wellness-based cooking program for television, based on
her most popular (and delicious) recipes. So if you a
looking for a opening keynote to energize your audience
and get them ready to engage in the task at hand or if
you need a closing speaker to send your participants
home inspired and renewed, in A’Keti you will find a
passion filled, electrifying message of transformation,
hope and purpose.
